Taco Bell's New Green Menu Takes No Ingredients From Nature.
As part of my visual effects work for the Onion News Network, I contributed to a parody segment of their morning program Today Now that satirized fast food marketing with a fake story about Taco Bell’s new “Green” menu—where none of the ingredients actually came from nature. My work involved creating seamless VFX elements that gave the sketch the glossy, overly polished look of real morning-show graphics and corporate food advertising. From mock product shots to faux on-screen branding, I enhanced the absurdity of the premise by treating it with the same slick visual style that audiences associate with real promotional campaigns. The humor depended on the straight-faced delivery, so the effects had to walk the line of looking professional while being just off enough to heighten the joke. The result was a piece that blended sharp satire with production value, a perfect fit for The Onion’s signature brand of comedy.
